Live hack. Okay dear proactive internet users. Lets make clear in commonly-used terminology that every search marketer should know.

what is contextual advertising
Contextual advertising is advertising that is shown on a web page based on the page's keywords, content etc.

what is anchor text
Anchor text is clickable text part of hyperlink. The text gives information about page it links to. For example, free samples without surveys. free samples without surveys - anchor text here.

what is CTR
CTR=click through rate. Expressed in a percentage rate at which visitors click on the ad. Its calculated by dividing the total number of clicks by the number of ad impressions.

what is CPA
CPA=cost per action. Publisher gets payed depending on some action that a visitor performs as a result of the ad.Such actions can be signing up on site, goods purchase etc. Publisher gets set fee based on the quantity of actions taken by users.

what is CPC
CPC=cost per click. Another name PPC (pay per click). Publisher gets payed for every unique click on the ad.

what is CPM
CPM=cost per thousand. Publisher gets set fee. This fee is based on every 1000 ad impressions. So publisher gets payed whether visitor clicks on the ad or not.

what is ROI
ROI=return on investment. Amount of money advertiser earns from ads compared to sum of money he(she) spends on ads.
